Here are a few cards I made this past week during a crop at my friend Karmen's house and at the EAMC while spending the afternoon with Donald.

I love the summery look and simplicity of this card!

There is just something about brown and pink together that I love!

I just adore the mini library clip. Another Laney-inspired card.

This was a rather simple card to make. I finally found a use for the "smile" slider.

The big cherries were stamped, heat embossed, and cut out. I truly love how this one turned out.

Just wanted to show you the inside of the previous card.

Another brown and pink with kiwi kiss green added to the mix. Love the color combo!

This is a fave of mine. It's so delicate looking. I think the slide frame made a nice addition.

Simple but fun!

When I started this one I got "creative block" but it turned out to be one of my all-time faves.

I'm sitting here waiting on Donald to get out of surgery so I uploaded these pics I took this morning and cropped them. Now I'm getting them on here - finally. This first cube is of Ryan and Logan with a corkboard background. Haven't decided what to do for the 2nd cube yet but I've got a few ideas. Let me know what you think!

I finally finished my photo cube! I NEED to take some pics and upload - I know. I will. Just got some family medical things going on at the moment that take priority. But I will do it - soon! Just wanted to update and post that I have finished it. I did my first one of Ryan and Logan with a corkboard background. Both boys liked it so I guess that means it turned out pretty good : )

Irritability

I guess that's what I should expect while trying to cut down on calories AND limiting my coffee to ONE cup a day. Really? What WAS I thinking? I'm gonna try and stick with the caffeine thing though ~ well, at least for most days.
Did really well dieting today. No formal exercise though. Just cleaning and washing clothes ~ that's exercise in itself. LOL!
I know this first week is gonna be tough all around but I will get through it. My Logan is watching what he eats and is gonna exercise too. It's nice having someone here at home doing this with me. Tried to talk Ryan and Donald into joining me. No go. Oh well... Maybe they will see our progress and decide they want to do it too.

That time again...

It is time for the Lanier Weight Loss War at my job. I believe I have an awesome team this year that is dedicated to losing weight - and it would be a nice bonus for our team to win the competition. Not only would we look marvelous, feel better and be healthier, we would win money!! That's always a great motivator! We all go and weigh in tomorrow and then weigh weekly for 8 weeks. Then we will find out which team won. And hopefully be several pounds lighter ~ lol! I will update our progress. Wish us luck!

My Thanksgiving

We didn't celebrate our Thanksgiving on Thursday like most. I had to work so we did it the following Saturday. I had picked up Lane, my oldest son, on Tuesday and he spent the rest of the week with us. I was very thankful to have all my boys together again. My grandmother joined us and we ate, watched a little football (in between my dozing off - I worked the night before), and then finished off the day watching movies. Oh and I got shown a dozen or so things that is wanted for Christmas. LOL! It was probably the best Thanksgiving for me in a long time. I am forever grateful Lord.

Black Friday thoughts...

I was able to drag my husband along for the Black Friday frenzy again. Don't know if I can get him to go next year though. In all the madness, he was hit by a flying GPS when someone mistakened his "I see you" wave to me as an "I want one" wave and threw one to him. It was absolute chaos but I expected it ~ just as I do every year. Which brings me to the purpose of writing this.
Anyone who has shopped or even heard about shopping on Black Friday KNOWS it is gonna be crowded and you're gonna have to wait in a line to get what you want. You will also have to wait in a checkout line. That being said ~ don't gripe and complain about it. No one, least of all me, wants to hear it. I am standing there patiently waiting because I came there knowing it was gonna be like that and accepted it. If you don't like it, leave or don't even bother to come in the first place.
I just had to get that off my chest...

Attention Catfish Lovers!!

My family visited the best little restaurant in LaGrange! It's called the Catfish Cabin and it's on Greenville Rd (where Gun City used to be). When we first walked in, we were pleasantly greeted and seated promptly. After our drink orders were gotten, we were served slaw and scrumptious hush puppies (and I'm not a big fan of hush puppies but these are great!). If you've never tried fried pickles before, you should try them! Yummy! The adults ordered catfish and it was awesome! Can't wait to go back! Logan ordered a child's cheeseburger which was HUGE! He could only eat half but brought the other half home for lunch the next day.
They have more than catfish. They have thick homeade burgers and I don't remember what else cause I only went for the catfish !! Sorry, you'll just have to go to find out! They are only open for dinner on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. It would be a GREAT place for your Christmas party!
I definitely recommend this restaurant! Tell Brittany that Daphne sent you!!

Here are my candles!

I had a marvelous time learning how to do these great new things to candles. Here are the pics of mine. The first 2 are the ones I did at Barbara's (I added the crimped paper and rafia to the first one when I got home) and I did the last set this morning. This could be very addictive!!!

I have been learning some new "crafty" things. Going to Barbara's to learn how to put pictures and stamp on candles this Sunday!! Sounds exciting, doesn't it? If your interested, let me know and I can show you how (after Sunday that is!). I will post some pics of my new projects after I do the candle on Sunday. Let me know what you think!

I received my shipment from Memory Works Friday and couldn't wait to play! I created a few layouts today for our upcoming trip to Chattanooga, TN this weekend. I usually don't make them ahead of time but I couldn't help myself! I love this paper and rub-ons and chalkboard chipboard!!! I will post pics when I get the pictures put on the layouts. Yes! You will have to wait to see them! They are GROOVY!

Finally! I took some pics of some layouts that were in albums and here they are. Enjoy!

This one is entitled "Caught". We used to "catch" Logan doing the craziest things as you can see in this layout. I don't know if you can tell it but in the bottom right picture he is standing in a bread pan!

This is a layout made from CTMH paper and Dimensional Elements Fresh Shapes chipboard which I inked green.

This picture doesn't really show how bright and cheery this layout is. I love the orange, fushia, and lime together!

I will add more later. I've got to dig them out of my scrapbooks and take pics. I'm expecting a Memory Works delivery Friday so hopefully I will get quite a few layouts produced.

Itching to Scrap!

I'm feeling that creative itch! My problem is finding the time to scratch it. I did finish another Sisterhood Circle Journal (Yahoo!). Now I have a box full of photos...and empty scrapbooks...
I'd really like to work on some cards. Maybe even get started on my Christmas cards soon.
I was hoping to post some of past work here but my desktop crashed with my photos of my layouts and cards on it (ugh!) and until I get it fixed and the photos retreived... Soon I will have some new layouts and will take photos to post. So check back frequently!! Until then check out the great items at Memory Works and let me know what you want me to order for you!
